The Cricket Magic 5G, intriguing as its name may be, boasts not only 5G network compatibility but also an exceptionally affordable price. If you’ve been yearning for a budget-friendly phone with 5G capability and a sizable display, your wait is over with the Magic 5G.
With the growing competition in the technology world, every company uses different strategies to beat their competitors, some use digital marketing methods, and some use their brand image to increase sales, same Cricket Wireless has done this by giving a 5G network access to affordable handsets. But the other specifications of this phone are average, let’s check it out.
The other good point about this phone is its 6.6″ display size which enhances every experience with its large size. Binge-watch series in high quality with HD+ screen or play games with your friends. Although I do not recommend hard-core gaming on this phone, it might affect the performance of the phone in the long run and make it slow. The screen comes with a refresh rate of 90 Hz which helps you switch screens in speed. Not all phones have a 90hz refresh rate which is another good point of this phone.
Enough with the good things about the Cricket Magic 5G, let’s see the drawbacks of the phone. Firstly, the Camera comes with a disappointing 13 MP+2 MP dual camera with features like Autofocus, Digital zoom, Touch focus, Face detection, and a front-facing camera of 5MP. The camera is one of the most important factors for users to decide whether to buy a phone or not, Cricket seems to have overlooked this aspect but given the price of the device, you shouldn’t complain about it.
Regarding the performance, the Cricket Magic 5G is equipped with an Octa-core processor clocked at a speed of 2.2GHz which makes the phone faster, a GPU ARM Mail-G57 MC2 featuring high-quality video support, gaming, and more. The Cricket Magic 5G runs on the Android 13 OS, and there will be an update to the latest Android 14. A handset running on Android 13 OS comes with all the latest features and apps supported making it another good point to buy the phone.
We get a battery with a standard 4000 mAh capacity. A 4000 mAh battery is known to be better than normal but if we compare it with other phones of these few years it is less as the usage of the phones has increased with time. Nonetheless, it won’t be much of a problem if used with care.
The Cricket Magic 5G offers 4GB RAM with 64 GB internal storage, with expandable storage through an SD card supporting up to 512 GB. I would not recommend adding an SD card if not necessary as it puts a load on the processor which could make the phone slow. A 4 GB RAM allows the phone to run smoothly with large files but that could be a problem in the long run. So, a RAM of 4GB is better than average but it’s not great.
The Cricket Wireless company offers a 2-year Worry-free Warranty which is good for some cases but I don’t think it would be necessary in most cases as a phone good or bad could easily run for 2-3 years.
The Cricket Magic 5G comes at an affordable price of $139.99. You may get a discounted rate at Walmart or other online store. If you are moving from other networks to Cricket, then it’s a free phone for you.
